Abstract

Nowadays, generating electricity using renewable energy plays an important role worldwide. Hydropower is considered one of the most efficient and cost-effective methods of energy production. In the future, it is expected that more small-scale hydropower plants will be implemented. The main critical components of a propeller turbine include the blades, runner, casing, and draft tube. It can be used in locations with a head of 1 m and a flow velocity of 0.94 m/s. The turbine speed is 565 rpm, and the runner’s specific speed is 673 rpm, providing the required output power of 15 kW. For this power, the runner diameter is 481 mm, the hub diameter is 192 mm, and the number of blades is 4.
