Abstract

The transition to a “green” economy—sustainable development that combines environmental sustainability with social progress—is accompanied by significant changes in the labor market. According to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), a green economy is a low-carbon, resource-efficient, and socially inclusive economy. In other words, growth in well-being and employment in such an economy is achieved through investments in environmentally friendly technologies and innovations, simultaneously ensuring environmental protection and the creation of decent jobs.
