Abstract

The article analyzes Uzbekistan's Social Progress Index (SPI) indicators and examines the causal relationships between environmental quality and population quality of life. The study shows the changes in Uzbekistan’s SPI ranking from 2015 to 2024: the index increased from 61.33 to 68.46, raising the country’s global ranking from 98th to 76th place. The research results indicate that Uzbekistan has weak indicators in terms of "environmental quality" (53.99 index, 141st place). The article proposes measures for improvement in the areas of air pollution, biodiversity conservation, and waste recycling.
